DJ, Activist

Arrow Chrome is a DJ and activist whose work has focused on developing alternatives to traditional housing and environmental policy and advocating lifestyles outside of mainstream culture. In 1995, he founded the Nomadic Festival, a traveling collective of performers who combined circus, theater and anarchist politics to inspire a politically aware subculture. He has been a leader in the national movement to establish a legal micro-radio network and co-founded Manhattan's longest running pirate radio station, Steal This Radio, in 1995. Throughout the ‘90s, Arrow was actively involved in New York City’s homestead movement, which sought to transform abandoned property into low-income, tenant-controlled housing. In 1996, he co-founded Blackkat, a collective of artists, musicians, and activists nationally recognized for their groundbreaking warehouse parties. Arrow is currently developing several projects that promote awareness of biodiesel and other sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels, including B.I.O. Tour, an annual traveling public awareness campaign.
