Filmmaker
Hany Abu-Assad worked as an airplane engineer in The Netherlands until 1998, when he began pursuing his work in film and television full-time. The Fourteenth Chick, his directorial debut, was the opening film of the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht, in 1998. Films include: Ford Transit (2002), Rana's Wedding (2002), Nazareth 2000 (2000), Der Arabieren van 2001 & Het Spijkerkwartier (documentary, 1999), The Fourteenth Chick (documentary, 1998), The 13th (short film, 1997), Onverwachte Natuur (6 episodes for Vara Television, 1996), Paper House (short film, 1992), Long days in Gaza (producer, documentary, 1991).
