Artist, Curator

Marc Lepson is an interdisciplinary artist and curator living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Since the events of September 11 2001, Marc’s projects have focused on the political and emotional climate in New York City and the greater U.S. Working on his own and with activist groups, Marc has done print work for public performances such as Our Grief is Not A Cry For War (2001), as well as several street graphics projects. In 2002, he created a gallery installation examining the current climate of war and the intense scrutiny of immigrants within the U.S. The exhibition, Breathe: A meditation on claustrophobia, confinement and comfort, was excerpted in Open House: Working in Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Museum of Art in 2004. His recent curatorial projects include; Watch What We Say (2004) at Schroeder Romero, Brooklyn, NY; American Archetypes (2004) on the Visual AIDS web gallery; and Art During Wartime (2003), co-organized with Dread Scott at IT IN Space, New York, NY.
