Playwright
Peter’s plays include The Age of Consent, which premiered at London’s Bush Theatre in 2002, and is published by Methuen. The play has since been staged professionally in Dublin, Edinburgh, Rome, Berlin, and Tokyo, and (inexplicably) on television in Reykjavik.
Peter is twice the winner of London’s Sunday Times Playwriting Prize (2000 and 2001). He is also a founding member and associate artist of the Obie-award-winning company The Civilians, and served as resident writer on their show Gone Missing (NY: Belt Theatre, London: Gate Theatre) and during their 2003 residency at the Public Theatre.
Television and screen work includes: “Born and Bred” (BBC1); a miniseries adaptation of John Lanchester’s novel The Debt to Pleasure (BBC2); and a screen adaptation of Paul Murray’s novel An Evening of Long Goodbyes (Film Four / Company Pictures).
He is currently working with director Robert Altman, on a 6-part television adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Tales of the Unexpected (BBC / Sandcastle 5).
